Appalachia Mission Trip

Our mission group will be in Kentucky on Sunday, July 9 through Saturday, July 15. They will be helping to make a families’ home warm and dry. Pray for their safety, in work and travel, and that their witness may point to the healer of all, Jesus Christ, our Lord.

NALC Convocation

August 9-11
Our North American Lutheran Church is gathering in Oklahoma City, OK, Wednesday – Friday, August 9-11. We are looking for two BFLC members to serve as delegates. This is a great opportunity to hear about the mission and ministry of our larger church and our missionary, Didi Panza, will be there. If you are able to attend, please contact the church office.

Vacation Bible School

A big “thank you” to all the volunteers and helpers who made this year’s VBS a success!! Good food, good people, good times!!! Well done!

From Andrew Koetsier, Director of Youth and Family Ministries

Greetings BFLC Family!

Thank you to everyone, including our visiting Rainbow Trail Lutheran Camp counselors, who worked together to make our VBS a great success! Each morning, the sounds of worship songs, games, Scripture reading, and play filled our church. In the evenings, students gathered for spirited games, worship, bible study, and even a couple of bonfires. Reflecting on the week, I am challenged by Jesus’ words: “whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it” (Luke 18:17). When I am tempted to be worn down by the cares of the world or puffed up with the biblical “knowledge” I have accumulated over the years, it is a welcome reminder that Jesus calls us to come to Him with faith like a child.
Pray with me in the coming months that the faith displayed by our young people would take root and grow down deep, demonstrated in life-long devotion to Him. Pray also that when we face times of doubt, that God might give us a child-like faith that truly takes Jesus at His word.
With child-like faith,
Andrew Koetsier
