Joining Jesus as a Family: What would you rather experience? Life as usual or a daily adventure of joining Jesus? Yesterday all over again or living a fulfilling life for the good of others?

Crossing the Neighborhood: On Saturday, August 13 four of us handed out crosses to 65 homes in Wolf
Ranch just south of Black Forest. Please stay tuned for future dates.

FROM JACOB OGLESBY, DIRECTOR OF YOUTH AND FAMILY MINISTRIES

Throughout the month of August, we have continued to be so blessed with great weather and great times together. From bingo night last month (where kids always seem to win!) to Rainbow Trail with some of the students and everything in between. We are so excited to be able to share these experiences together.
Ready or not we have officially ushered in a new School year!! As the students have begun their new school year, we are preparing to begin for our Fall classes as well. As per usual we will be having youth Sunday school in my office between services, youth group on Sunday evenings from 6:00-7:30 PM, and confirmation class Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:00 PM. Confirmation class begins on Wednesday, September 7 with our informational meeting and all other classes begins Sunday, September 11.

Our young adult group had a great time together at the Bushes for a BBQ cookout and some fun games. This was on Wednesday, August 17. This group is also meeting regularly for some check in time, meals, and Bible studies. If you are post college to around mid-30’s and you have not yet been connected let either me or Lisa know. We would love to get you plugged in to some fun stuff we have going on. This is also not just a closed church group, if you have friends or family that fit in this category that you would like to see more involved in the church world we would love to reach out. Just let us know!

Although our children’s movie had to get cancelled due to inclement weather, we are looking for some fun events next month as well. This includes our craft day on the September 24 and be on the lookout for some other fun events in September as well.

And of special note, please join us for our Mission Trip 2023 Informational Meeting, Wednesday, September 21 at 6:00 PM.

Finally, we also have our Men’s Support Group which is meeting the fourth Thursday of every month at 6:30 PM. In our ever-changing and trying world men need to know that it is okay to struggle, to be challenged, and to ask for help. Mike Regennitter and Jacob Oglesby invite men that may be struggling or maybe just need an encouraging word to join them in a conversation to discover that they are not alone. There seem to be few safe spaces for men to be real and authentic with one another, this is one of those spaces. We will have conversation, those who are willing can share their thoughts and stories, and we will be given tools for how not to just survive, but to thrive.

For His glory,
Jacob Oglesby
