The Scribe – October 2020

Fall Worship Schedule
Begins Sunday, September 27 – INSIDE
8:00 AM & 10:30 AM – Sunday School for all ages at 9:30 AM
We are so blessed to have been able to worship outside every Sunday since June 7. Now it’s time to move inside. See more details inside.

We have planned this move carefully, including 6 foot distanced seating, masks, areas cleaned between services, and the Fellowship Hall has been set up for additional seating. Windows and doors will be opened. You can also worship in your car or at home online (notice the improved video and sound). As you come, expect things to be different. An usher will be seating people. You probably won’t be sitting in your regular spot. Markers on the floor will designate where to stand as you come up for holy communion.

Thank you for your patience as we make yet another transition. We thank the Lord that we can gather.

Themes for October Sundays
4 – Spiritual Orphans – Philippians 3:4-11
11 – The Answer for Anxiety – Philippians 4:1-9
18 – What’s our Purpose? – Matthew 22:15-22
25 – Lord God, Love Others Matthew – 22:34-40

Stewards of God’s Influence
We begin our Stewardship focus on October 18 as we look at the many ways God has gifted us so we can influence others for good. How can we affect, impact, and influence others that their lives may be better, deeper, and more meaningful?

Youth and Family Ministries

Hello all, Jacob here!
Greetings all. As many of you know we are now in full swing for the Fall. Confirmation class has been going well as we have now met for multiple sessions. It has been great getting to see everyone in person and getting to know the students. Along with confirmation class we also are going to have our confirmation Sunday on the 18th in which we will confirm the students who have met the criteria.

We have had our first confirmation work project this Sunday which was a time to help prepare for service now that we are coming indoors. Although it is mandatory for the confirmation students to meet this criteria it is open and available to any/all who want to serve. We will be continuing to do these service projects into the winter months so please keep an eye out and we hope to see you there!

As for other fun events we have a few that are coming up in the month of October. The first we have is a ceramic painting night with our more artsy teens and young adults. This event will be sometime in mid-October and will give the students an opportunity to show off their artistic skills in painting! I am also looking into the potential of doing more sports nights and a table tennis tournament for the youth. Included in these events are games, activities, and lesson plans for the coming months which I am looking forward to being a participant. If you are wanting to volunteer or help out with any of these events feel free to reach out to me and we’ll see how we can get you plugged in!

We have also begun offering different Sunday programs. This includes providing a nursery space for parents with young children, wiggle worship, and Sunday school classes. Sunday school is offered between the 8:00 AM service and the 10:30 service and Wiggle Worship will be offered after the children’s message at the 10:30 service.
