Lent is the prayerful, reflective season of the church spanning 40 days before Easter. It was originally the time for teaching the faith to those preparing for baptism. After celebrating Transfiguration Sunday, when we see Jesus in all his glory and are reminded to “Listen to Him”, we enter into Lent with its Wednesday evening worship.
Ash Wednesday - March 6, 7:00 PM
Ash Wednesday is the beginning of Lent. It is the service where a cross of ashes it traced on our foreheads to remind us that we aren't on the earth forever. Much of what we worry about isn’t lasting. But the Lord is.
Lord’s Prayer Wednesdays
During Lent we will meet together each Wednesday evening. Soup suppers begin on March 13 at 6:00 PM. Our peaceful Holden Evening Vespers service is
7:00 - 7:45 PM. Our thoughts will focus on the prayer Jesus taught us,
The Lord's Prayer
March 13 - Our Father, Hallowed be thy name
March 20 - Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done
March 27 - Give us today our daily bread
April 3 - Forgive us our sins as we forgive
April 10 - Deliver us from evil and temptation
Come and eat, pray and reflect on the Wednesday evening in Lent.
Wiggle Worship: Occurring during the 10:30 AM Sunday worship service
Wiggle Worship is a time where children are invited to join Jeremy in the Mountain Room following the Kids Chat for a time of singing, dancing, and playing. We ask that parents pick up their children at the beginning of the time of communion so that families may be together during the Eucharist.
Join us for a special early St. Patrick’s themed Grove on Sunday March 10th at 5:00 PM. Bring your favorite dish containing potatoes and/or mutton to share (Jeremy will cover a vegetarian option) as we spend time together and discover more about St. Patrick!
Every Sunday morning from 9:30 -10:15 AM, middle and high school students venture together through the depths of challenging philosophical questions about the nature of God ethics and our world.
Black Forest Board Game Group:
Folks of all ages are welcome to join us as we gather at Black Forest Brewery on March 14th and 28th from 6:30 - 8:00 PM to hangout and play some board games! A variety of board games are provided to jump into so just bring yourself and a friend to have a great time!
