The Scribe – March 2023

From Pastor Ken

“God’s Amazing Grace”

Wednesdays in Lent:
We will fail. It’s not a matter of “if”, but “when”. In our words and our actions, at home or work. Give us enough time and we will fail. Yet our God never gives up or turns his back on us. In our Wednesday Lenten services, we’ll hear how good God is, even when we fail. No, especially when we fail. We’ll focus on 5 situations in the Old Testament.

March 1 – When We Fail Adam and Eve Genesis 3 Psalm 32
8 – When We Doubt Abraham Genesis 12 Psalm 21
15 – When We Complain Wilderness People Exodus 17 Psalm 77
22 – When We Fall Short David 1 Samuel 16 Psalm 23
29 – When We Have No Hope Dry Bones Ezekiel 37 Psalm 130

Join us as we gather for soup and bread supper at 6:00p. Sign-up in the Fellowship Hall to bring soup or bread. Then at 7:00p, our worship is in the context of the peaceful Holden Evening Prayer service with song, silence, and prayer.

Our Lenten Offerings are designated for the NALC’s Disaster Relief Fund. See page 3 for more information.

Adult Sunday School Class
Life Together: Conflict in the Early Church – A bible study on 1st Corinthians
Sundays @ 9:30a in the sanctuary
We experience conflict in every aspect of our lives: home, school, work, even in church. We don’t like it, we avoid it, and we could handle it better. Join me for this 7-session study where we’ll learn how the apostle Paul works through various issues in Corinth, the most affluent, talented, and most troubled congregation in the early church.
