The Scribe – March 2020, Volume I

Lent

The season of Lent began as 40 days of instruction for those being baptized in the early church. It is still a time for reflection and learning.

This Lent, our Sunday messages will focus on the theme: What kind of witness?

March 1 – Jesus’ Temptation – More to life than me?

March 8 – Nicodemus’s Question – Hesitant or Wholehearted?

March 15 – Woman at the Well – Come and see if He’s the One?

March 22 – Man Born Blind – Do You want to be His Disciple?

March 29 – Lazarus Raised – Is it safe to follow Jesus?

Join me as we reflect on what kind of witnesses we are.

Lent Services

We gather for 7:00 PM each Wednesday beginning March 4. The peaceful and prayerful Holden Evening Service is the context for our worship. We will reflect on the words from the Mount of Transfiguration – Listen to him. How do we listen to Jesus through scripture, prayer, worship and meditation? Lenten soup suppers are at 6:00 PM beginning one week later, March 11, due to the recarpeting of the Fellowship Hall. Sign-up to bring soup or bread.
