Holy Week and Easter
Palm/Passion Sunday – April 2 – 8:00 AM & 10:30 AM
We wave palm branches as we hear of Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem. (Kids join us in the
Fellowship Hall at 7:50 AM and 10:20 AM to gather for the palm procession). Later, the once joyful crowd
turns angry and calls out for his death on a cross.
Maundy Thursday – April 6
Soup Supper – 6:00 PM
Holden Evening Prayer & Holy Communion – 7:00 PM
Maundy is Latin for mandate or command. Jesus washes the disciples’ feet and gives a new command:
to love one another as he loved us. Through his presence we become servants to each other. Our
worship ends with the dramatic stripping of the altar, preparing us for the stark reality of Good Friday.
Good Friday – April 7 – 7:00 PM
Called “good” because on this Friday the greatest gift was given: the life of our Lord for us. In the
service of Tenebrae (darkness), readings are interspersed with music, so we hear the story of our
Lord’s passion in the gradual darkening of the sanctuary.
Easter Sunday – April 9
In the darkness of grief, Jesus’ followers come to the tomb only to find the stone rolled away and to
hear the news: “He is Risen!” Jesus’ light scatters our darkness. His presence transforms life itself.
6:00 AM – Sunrise Service. Dramatic worship, including darkness and candlelight, youth drama and
dressing of the altar. Youth and young adults, if you would like to participate, contact Lisa.
7:00 – Easter Breakfast. In the Fellowship Hall. Sign-up on bulletin board to bring food and sign-up to
help in the kitchen at 5:00 AM.
8:00 – Resurrection of Our Lord Worship.
9:45 – Easter Egg Hunt. For kiddos up to 5th grade. Bring basket and meet in the Fellowship Hall.
For 6th grade and up – meet Lisa at 9:15 AM in the Fellowship Hall to hide eggs.
10:30 – Resurrection of Our Lord Worship.

- If you would like to participate in the Sunrise service at 6:00 AM please let Lisa know. Lots of options, and we do need the help!
- Meet Lisa in the Fellowship Hall at 9:15 AM to help hide the eggs for the hunt!
Juniors & Seniors!

We are thinking Wings! Dinner with Cam & Delta to chat about Senior year and then off to college, and the grieving that goes with all of that.
Mission Trip
9th grade and up pray and think about joining us on the Mission Trip! it will be life changing!
