In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, "It is more blessed to give than to receive."
Acts 20:35 New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)
The Black Forest Lutheran Church Mission Endowment Fund is a trust that manages gifts and bequests to the Church. The purpose of the Fund is to further the mission of the Church, above and beyond our regular program. It is not meant to fund normal, routine operational expenses of the Church.
Congregational members are encouraged to contribute to the Endowment Fund through outright contributions such as cash, securities, real estate, annuities, or planned giving which may include life insurance, trusts, or wills. Disbursements from the Fund are made primarily from the income earned on the Fund itself. It is a wonderful giving method for members who would like to make contributions to the Church that benefit its many missions over the long term. It is literally the gift that keeps on giving.
No gift is too large or too small. Tax benefits may be used by the donor depending on how they set up their contributions and their individual circumstances (we may encourage you to see your attorney and financial advisor for more complicated contributions). The Fund is managed by the Endowment Committee.
